BACKGROUND
We drive these next level cars every day.
Ever since the first Model S Tesla has pushed the boundaries of design in combination with lowest drag coefficient on the market. They do this thanks to an obsession to details. However, we couldn’t feel the same effort when it came to wheel design.
Way back in 2012, Tesla introduced the original 19“ aero wheel design with the start of the first generation Model S. It was quickly discontinued and now it is more about production cost, relying on plastic hubcaps for efficiency. Something was missing. The challenge is about creating a wheel that is in perfect harmony with the engineering and design of the car.
We wanted the wheel Tesla never made. A wheel with good design, better handling and less energy consumption. Improving every aspect.
THE FOUNDERS
We met through the Tesla Owners community, a unique platform where progressive ideas are shared and critically analyzed. Taking part in discussions about wheels, efficiency and the limited choices, we wanted something more.
Alexander, the dedicated Tesla driver since 2014, has family background of entrepreneurs. Tesla’s approach to creating the most fun car which also happens to be electric got him hooked. He loves cooking a nice dinner or even flying his kids to see a beautiful sunset with his plane.
Rasmus, our mechanical engineer, graduated from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Fly fishing with his brothers to relax, he is brilliant in his way of solving even the most challenging of engineering tasks.
Ulrich, through his work with and love of cars, and being in photography, he has a special view of designtrends and the beautiful things in life. He loves taking his family on electric road trips throughout Europe. He is our creative visionary and caring soul.
TNA is still 100% owned by its founders.
PRODUCTION PARTNER
Closing in on our 10th anniversary, we are in it for the long game. TNA builds long lasting relationships with renowned suppliers.
Starting with family owned Fondmetal SpA in Italy as our manufacturing partner we recently moved to Ronal AG in Switzerland. Our smaller series forged wheels are made in selected TÜV approved factories.
In fact we only work with suppliers that have their manufacturing approved by the German TÜV, something that is rare in the aftermarket wheel business.
Every TNA wheel type and size is tested by a third party laboratory and certificates issued, conveniently available for download. The approvals range from ECE to KBA/ABE.
